There is no need to be frightened, these are individuals who are stepping up and stepping out in Halloween costume to help raise funds for one of our favorite nonprofit organizations, the Willamette Humane Society (WHS). The event, presented by Capitol Subaru, is an annual fundraiser to help provide food,shelter, medical care and new homes for cats and dogs in Marion & Polk Counties. Why do we admire WHS so much? How can we count the ways? This organization makes our community better by: Providing shelter, warmth, and care to approximately 8,500 animals who arrive at the shelter every year (yes, 8,500 animals!!). Completing local families by matching pets with people. Leading the community through education by teaching respect and compassion for animals with helpline & tip sheets, classroom education programs, shelter tours. Offering dog training classes & consults. Supporting the spay/neuter of companion animals as a means of population control by offering low-cost spay & neuter services. Saving lives of countless animals by providing services such as cat & dog adoptions, pet re-homing assistance and so much more!
