As more and more drivers are opting for electric-powered vehicles here in the Pacific Northwest, the demand electric vehicle (EV) charging stations have increased significantly. The state of Oregon is leading the way in creating a strong future for electric vehicles in this country and by 2020, our state aims to have at least 50,000 registered electric vehicles on our roads. As part of Oregon's 50K by 2020 initiative, new buildings and parking structures will be required to be EV-ready. Fortunately, Salem, Oregon was one of the early adopters of emissions-free vehicles and already has a strong network of ultra-fast EV Charging stations in place. In fact, at last count, there are 39 stations within a 10-mile radius of the city center. If you are driving an electric car in Oregon's Capitol City, you can find a charging station right here at The Salem Convention Center along with other convenient public parking areas like the Salem Public Library, the Chemeketa Parkade, the Liberty Parkade, Marion Parkade, and the West Salem Library.
