'I am so thankful for the special memories we have the privilege of sharing with our guests.' -Soraida Cross Here at the Salem Convention Center, the holidays are one of our favorite times of the year. For us, it's more than just the dazzling decorations, the music and the joyful events like our Holiday Tree Lighting. It's the time for friends and family to come together and give thanks for the blessings we currently enjoy and look with hope towards the new year to come. Like many of you, this has been a year of ups and downs, and there is much to reflect on. But in the end, this year has brought The Salem Convention Center family closer together. We asked some of the members of the VIPS family what they are most thankful for this holiday season, and here is what they had to say. 'I am thankful for a wonderful family, supportive husband and a beautiful state to call home! I am thankful for the great people/friends I get to work with each day (clients & coworkers alike). I am thankful for joyful memories, life lessons & challenges. I love the rollercoaster of life and I can't wait to see what the future holds! We have so much to be thankful for!' -Sarah Verheyden We may not have won the grape stomp competition, but we're pretty sure we had the most fun! 'I am thankful that West Coast Seed Mill Co. has had such major growth and success that they needed Merrissa to officially go to work for the family business! This wonderful opportunity for her opened the door for me to be rehired as the Sales Manager at the Salem Convention Center. I am thankful to be “back home” and part of the awesome “VIPS Family” once again. There's No Place Like Home!' -Tina Winge 'I am thankful for my daughter and my son who are my world. I am thankful for my new grandbaby on the way! I am thankful for all of the opportunities I have received over the years and the friends I've have met along the way. I'm also thankful for being able to work at SCC, where it is always fun and exciting. Thank you SCC!' -Gerilynn Scotti We're thankful for our community partnerships, like the one we have with Union Gospel Mission, that enable us to give back to the community that has given us so much. 'I am thankful for the family in the States I have met through my husband. I am thankful for being able to work and meet great people through work. I am thankful for new friends I have in the states and the house my husband and I bought last year. I am thankful that my husband got his dream job, being an art teacher. Most of all, I am thankful that my mom came all the way from Korea this year to see all these wonderful things & people in Oregon.' -Yeo We're thankful to the many organizations, like the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce, that trust us with their important events year after year.
