At the Salem Convention Center, we’re incredibly grateful for vendor partners who help bring our events to life — and Danner & Soli Event Rental is one we consistently trust. From weddings to galas to corporate events, their décor rentals elevate the experience for our clients, time and time again. We also collaborate with Shirleen through Willamette Valley Wedding Pros, and we truly adore working with her and her team. Their professionalism, creativity, and heart for the industry make them such valued partners in our community. This month, we’re honored to spotlight Shirleen Bell and the inspiring journey behind her three businesses: Danner & Soli Event Rental, River Bell Farm, and Urban Granary. From Dental Hygienist to Event Designer Shirleen’s path into the events world began with upcycling furniture after years working as a dental hygienist. What started as garage sale finds and pop-up markets evolved into a retail shop at the Willamette Heritage Center — named Danner & Soli after her horses. As she began assisting with weddings and hosting seasonal markets, she realized many clients didn’t know where to start with event décor. The wedding rental side of the business quickly grew, eventually transitioning from retail to a warehouse-based event rental company. Today, Danner & Soli is known for its unique inventory, thoughtful design, and full-service decorating packages. Their team doesn’t just deliver rentals — they execute entire event designs, handling everything from tables and ceremony décor to the finishing touches that make an event feel personal and one-of-a-kind. Shirleen credits much of the company’s success to her team. While she thrives on the creative side, her warehouse staff excels in organization, inventory quality, and seamless customer service — making the rental experience smooth from start to finish. Before building the team she has today, Shirleen is especially grateful for the support of her family and friends who stepped in during the early years to help bring events to life. River Bell Farm: A Weekend Wedding Experience When Shirleen and her husband set out looking for warehouse space, they found a charming barn already named “River Bell Farm” — fitting perfectly with their last name, Bell. What was meant to be storage quickly became a dream wedding venue. Through steady improvements and thoughtful design, the property has transformed into a warm, inviting space complete with café lights, a mason jar chandelier, and stunning “mountain tip views” of Mount Jefferson and Mount Hood. What makes River Bell Farm special is the full weekend access couples receive. With extra time to set up and prepare, couples can truly enjoy their wedding day without feeling rushed — creating an atmosphere that feels more like a family gathering than a single-day event. Urban Granary: Revitalizing Turner Urban Granary began with a crooked sign in Turner that Shirleen simply couldn’t ignore. The historic building — once the area’s first Chevy dealership — needed updates, but it held incredible potential. With support from the city and a vision to bring commerce back to the block, Urban Granary became a collaborative retail and gathering space. Food trucks are now on-site daily, year-round, giving the community a consistent place to gather, dine, and connect. Guests enjoy indoor seating, live music, and special events throughout the year. The Turner Night Market has become one of its standout successes, drawing strong crowds and supporting local vendors in a meaningful way. And looking ahead, Shirleen hopes to bring back the building’s early-1900s ice cream parlor roots — adding yet another layer of charm to the space. A Business Rooted in Community Across all three ventures, Shirleen’s work reflects creativity, resilience, and a deep love for community. Whether designing weddings through Danner & Soli, hosting celebrations at River Bell Farm, or building momentum in Turner with Urban Granary, her impact extends far beyond décor. We are proud to work alongside Shirleen and her team and are grateful for the partnership we share.
