Featured Event: Cinco de Micro Brewfest Friday, May 3rd & Saturday, May 4th, 2019 Salem Convention Center It's hard to believe that a small Cinco de Mayo event with a few hundred guests has evolved into the largest annual fundraiser at the Salem Convention Center in just a few short years. We are of course talking about the eighth annual Cinco de Micro Brewfest happening Friday, May 3rd (4 pm to 10 pm) and Saturday, May 4th, 2019 (2 pm to 10 pm)! The Salem Convention Center has been the site of the Cinco de Micro Brewfest since it began in 2011 and it's been an honor to watch it grow into one of Salem Oregon's premier fundraising events. 'It means a lot to us that the event organizers have trusted us each year to help the event grow and prosper,' says SCC's Special Events Coordinator, Soraida Cross.An enormous amount of planning and coordinating takes place on our end and with the amazing volunteers who donate their time and skills make this 2-day extravaganza possible! We're kicking it into high gear this month getting the facility ready for the anticipated 7000 guests along with 65 breweries, local eateries, distilleries and fantastic musical entertainment. Cinco de Micro Brewfest is one of the few events where beer aficionados can taste hard to find, spring release brews. If beer isn't your thing, there will be plenty vendors providing cider and spirits in the 'non-beer category'. This special event is one of our favorites because it brings our community together to celebrate and raise money for a worthy cause. 100% of the proceeds from Cinco de Micro will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion & Polk Counties for special enrichment programs for local children. 'It's our finest moment just to see people come down and get together,” Mary Eastridge, Boys & Girls Club board member tells The Statesman Journal. “It's community-building and makes people aware of the Boys & Girls Club.” If you prefer a quieter setting, you may want to come out earlier in the day, while the night hours tend to be more social. Guests can move with ease through multiple spaces within our facility including our outdoor patio and our Santiam Room as they sample craft brews, food and enjoying fabulous entertainment.
