Livability.com Ranks Salem, Oregon in Top 100 Best Places To Live 2014! What makes a city livable? Livability.com, a national website that ranks quality of life amenities of America's small and mid-sized cities, seeks to answer that question. After researching the nation and partnering with Richard Florida's Prosperity Institute to run the numbers, the site managed to create their inaugural list of the Best Places to Live and we were not at all surprised that Salem, Oregon made the list! In fact, our city was ranked #15 out of 100 cities that were ranked! Not bad, though in our book, Salem is the #1 most livable city in America. Our city was recognized for it's recreational, cultural and natural amenities; easy access to quality and affordable health care; and a population well distributed across age groups to support both.
