As the summer travel season kicks off, we felt like it was time to spotlight one of Salem, Oregon's most vital non-profit organizations: Travel Salem. Travel Salem is the official tourism and meeting website for Salem, Oregon and works tirelessly to promote Salem as well as Marion and Polk counties as a premier, year-round destination for conventions, events and leisure travelers. This outstanding organization has received numerous awards and recognition for their award-winning Travel Café, the official Salem area destination visitors center. They recently unveiled the official 2012-13 Salem Area Visitors Guide (pictured), a 65 page, full color visitors guide that offers trip ideas, attractions and points of interest, lodging, dining, events, shopping, wineries, gardens, agri-tourism, transportation, recreation and relocation information resources are included along with tour ideas and stories.
