Brush up on your piano chords! The Salem Chamber Orchestra is bringing Play Me, I'm Yours to Salem, Oregon from July 13-29, 2012 and you are invited to play the 11 street pianos distributed across the streets of Salem and Keizer. The pianos will be decorated by Salem-based nonprofits and placed in public locations. British artist Luke Jerram has presented this interactive public art project all over the world, and Salem is the first city in the Pacific Northwest to present the project. The public is invited to play and enjoy the pianos in the Salem Convention Center Courtyard and other locations throughout the area including: Keizer City Hall Kroc Community Center Veterans of Foreign Wars Union Street Pedestrian Bridge Downtown, Chemeketa & Liberty Sts. Bush's Pasture Park Minto Brown Island Park—Dog Park Capitol Mall Lancaster Mall Brian Johnston City Park You can download a map showing all the piano locations. Please post your photos, videos and comments about the pianos on www.salemstreetpianos.com. While documenting each piano's journey, the website will connect the pianos and their communities across the city.
