The Salem Convention Center is home to many outstanding events and every once in a while we like to take a moment to recognize some of the organizations behind them. We are thrilled to be the site of the Governor's Marketplace Conference next month, an event that brings together State, Federal and regional government entities along with private sector firms and non-profit organizations, to help Oregon small businesses achieve greater contracting success. The conference, now it it's 12th year, is presented by the Governor's Office of Economic & Business Equity, a state agency that serves Oregon's minority-owned, woman-owned and emerging small businesses. Their motto is 'Access, Opportunity and Connection elements designed to take your business to the next level.' Governor's Marketplace Conference 2014 takes place here on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM (PDT) and will feature industry focused training, an inspiring luncheon and a reverse vendor exhibitor fair, where small business owners will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with organizations who could utilize their products or services. Director of Economic & Business Equity, Cheryl Myers, says 'Under Governor Kitzhaber's leadership, we continue our strong support of Oregon entrepreneurs, mindful of his belief that Oregon's 'continued economic recovery is dependent on businesses large and small having ample and fair opportunities to be successful.'
