'We strive to be the hidden gem that people discover as their own special place traveling on I-5.' If you've ever driven along the I-5 corridor south of Salem, Oregon- you have probably noticed a curious stop around the Turner exit. This is the amazing, whimsical land of the Enchanted Forest, one of our favorite local attractions. Did you think this place was just for kids? Think again. Enchanted Forest, a delightful family owned and operated 20-acre amusement park, is a blast for families, children of all ages, adults and groups! If you have a company retreat coming up, consider hosting a nostalgic escape into the land of fairy tales. Vip's Industries Inc. recently treated employees and their families to a fun day out at this beloved destination featuring classic rides & storybook-inspired attractions . Vip's is the parent company of the Grand Hotel in Salem & Bentley's Grill adjacent to us, and is contracted by The City of Salem to manage The Salem Convention Center. Under their leadership, we often feel like a family, so what better place to gather our own families and explore this magical land? Vip's employees and their families recently gathered for a fun filled day at Enchanted Forest. The park features unique attractions such as Storybook Lane, Western Town, Old Europe Village, a Comedy Theatre, a wooden log flume ride (one of the favorites from our crew), the Ice Mountain Bobsled roller coaster, the Jolly Roger Water Light show, a haunted house and more...all in a charming wooded atmosphere. Enchanted Forest is the creation of Roger Tofte, an Oregon native who opened the park in 1971. 'Roger Tofte is an artist,' states PortlandMercury.com. 'But instead of working in oils, watercolors, or clay, his medium is the amusement park. What sets the Enchanted Forest apart from its bigger and better-financed competition (think Disneyland and Six Flags) is obvious from the get-go: It was lovingly created and built by the creative and detailed hand of Roger Tofte and his family.' “There is no shortage of ideas, just time and money,' Tofte tells Travel Salem. 'We believe in attention to artistic detail. We want to offer our visitors something unique, with a lot of variety. We strive to be the hidden gem that people discover as their own special place traveling on I-5.' Well Mr. Tofte, we think you have succeeded! Thank you for sharing your vision with all of us! Watch this video to get an idea of Mr. Tofte's wonderful creation. Enchanted Forest is located right off Interstate 5 just south of Salem at 8462 Enchanted Way SE, Turner, OR.
