At the Salem Convention Center, gratitude has always been at the heart of who we are. As we move through another season of connection, celebration, and service, we’re reminded of how many people, partnerships, and moments come together to make this place feel special. Our building is beautiful, but it’s the community around us — the people who walk through our doors and the team who works tirelessly behind them — that truly make SCC what it is today. We are deeply thankful for our clients and our community. Each year, we have the privilege of hosting events that bring people together to celebrate milestones, support meaningful causes, learn, reconnect, and share stories. From fundraisers that uplift our local nonprofits to conferences and galas that spark new ideas, every gathering reflects the spirit of Salem. It’s an honor to be a part of those moments and to serve the people who trust us with their most important events. We’re also grateful for our incredible partners who help bring our events to life. From Allied Video and Cherry City Electric to Danner & Soli, Apogee, Green Thumb Florals, Sewell Sweets, and so many other talented vendors, we couldn’t do what we do without their dedication and craftsmanship. These relationships are an essential part of our success, and we truly value the creativity, reliability, and expertise they bring into our space. And most of all, we are thankful for our SCC family — the staff who put heart, skill, and intention into every event. This year, our gratitude is especially focused on someone who shaped this team in a profound way: our longtime Director of Catering, Theresa Greco. Theresa was part of SCC from the very beginning. She has been a part of our team since the year we opened our doors and spent more than 2 decades helping build the standard of excellence we’re known for today. Fierce, savvy, and unmatched in her knowledge of this building, she coordinated every detail with precision — from food and beverage to audio and visual — ensuring each event unfolded seamlessly. Clients adored her. Staff relied on her. And anyone who worked beside her knew they were learning from one of the very best. She brought humor to long days, honesty to every conversation, and a level of mastery that elevated all of us. Whether she was walking a client through a convention from start to finish, brainstorming a TikTok with the sales office, or simply saying, “I’ll buy if you fly,” on a lunch run, she created memories we’ll carry with us forever. Her dedication, her realness, and her loyalty shaped this place more than she ever knew. As we take time to reflect on what we’re grateful for, we honor Theresa — her impact, her legacy, and the way she helped build the foundation of who we are. We miss her dearly, and we celebrate everything she has done for our SCC Team. Thank you to our clients, our partners, and our staff for being part of our story.
