She said, 'I personally like to prep a little the day before, so that when I come in, I can hit the floor running.” Her day will begin with checking in with either the Banquet Manager or the previous supervisor to get caught up on the day's events and tasks at hand. Armed with a clear understanding of what needs to be accomplished, she'll dive headfirst into the bustling event, wedding or meeting that's happening at the Salem Convention Center. What Are Your Responsibilities? In this fast-paced environment, Niki wears many hats. She's responsible for managing the bartenders and overseeing all alcohol operations, including inventory, ordering, and menu development. When asked what her day-to-day looks like, she commented that it involved, “Assisting the banquet managers with staff coordination and ensuring flawless event setup and execution.” Additionally, she handles a range of low-level HR duties and holds the significant role of chairing the safety team. Niki's multifaceted responsibilities showcase the versatility and dedication required to thrive in the event industry and we're so glad we have her to support the events we host. How Do You Solve Challenges That Arise? Challenges are an inevitable part of any job, but Niki rises to the occasion with grace and composure every time something comes up. We wanted to get some insight into how Niki keeps her cool when something unexpected happens. She remarked 'My first step is to maintain composure and approach the situation with a clear mind.” Fortunately, her extensive experience in the hospitality industry has honed her ability to excel under high-pressure circumstances, allowing for her to make quick, effective decisions.
